Dane, you are one hot white boy!
Where can we purchase Benson's shirts, blankets etc?
Thank you Ann, for the wonderful compliment...I hope to keep making people happy with them..we have new things now, not just clothing...
Don't be sorry Dane, you helped keep the park alive with the younger generation, that like yourself didn't get the chance to know what "Benson's Wild Animal Park" was. Next time, just give me a shout and I would be more than happy to give you the historical tour of the Park. Thank You again

Louise's embroidery for Benson Park T-shirts/sweatshirts, blankets, etc. is top-quality and a treasure to own. I have acquired 5 pieces of her exquisite work - and want more. Louise accepts custom orders and performs beyond your expectations. At present (Jan 21, 2011) the park is blanketed in 2+ feet of snow. While the driveways and parking lots have been plowed by the Hudson Highway Dept., the only way to access the park is via snowshoes and cross-country skis. Walkers will need to use paths created by others.
As for metal detector folks - all is allowed as long as you only leave footprints.

Is cross country skiing allowed in the winter months?
Thank You Pam for the compliment on the shirts. Due to our interest in the park and wanting to see it improve more my husband and I enjoy doing this for the park.
If anyone is interested we are open to orders. The majority of the sale price goes to the park for improvements. If anyone has questions you can contact me at paull03051@gmail.com
Mom and Dad, Took my brother and I to Benson's Animal Park a few times. We loved it. I do not like the Circus

Just thought I'd let everyone know about the wonderful t shirts and sweat shirts I got my family for Christmas from Friends of Bensons. They are of excellent quality and beautifully embroidered. No iron on emblems, but beautiful stitchery. There are many designs to select from and a few different colors. It is a pleasure to walk our dog in such a beautiful park. Weather permitting we go several times a week. The work the volunteers have done is tremendous. Thank you to all who have made this park possible. Just one reminder, please pick up after you dog.
Hello, I found your site while researching some images I saw on an old home movie film I purchased. The film I just put on eBay is at the following link for anyone interested in some awesome historical images of Benson's Animal farm. I have put several pictures up at the auction.http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=110634436890&ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT

Polar Bears are the true face of our global warming troubles..Not sure if things had changed for them when the Provenchers owned Bensons but
they sure had it bad there early on.
A tiny cage with a warm tub.
He paced back and forth.
Sorry....not such a good memory for me.

My husband and I worked at Bensons in 1961 with our sea lions, and we also trained some for the park. Nice place. I remember riding Betsy the elephant. Jo and Slivers Madison were also working there with the elephants. Lots of good memories.

My father, who is deceased, always talked about working at Benson's Animal Farm during the summer. It would have been in the 1930's, when he was a teenager. Unfortunately I don't have any further information. Actually, I was surprised to find so much about it on the internet. I am doing some genealogy research and I was wondering if anyone knows if any of the records are still available from the 30's.
I just put up my World Wildlife Fund calendar for 2011. It has a polar bear and her cub as the picture for January. The first time I saw a polar bear was at Benson's in the late 50's and they have always been a favorite of mine.
