My grandfather worked at Benson's around the mid 60's to early 70's. His name was Pink Madison. He was an elephant trainer. I remember I would spend the day running around the park and at showtimes I'd have to meet him back at the elephant barn to check in, and then ride Liz into the arena. Great memories! Can't wait to see the park now!

Nope, sadly the stone camels are not on site. Perhaps someone will donate them back one day.

Hard to believe it has been 25 years since the closing and final auction days of Bensons. Time flies. The memories were great. Human and Animal Friends made, even better. Glad the place has come to serve its family friendly purpose of today. Thanks to all those that made it work and happen.

I am photo scrapbooking, and just did a photo page of us kids at Benson's back in the late 50's and early 60's, but couldn't remember where it was, so just looked it up. Happy to hear it's being revitilized, I had a photo of the shoe, but can't seem to locate it now. ;)

Hi I want to say I love the great new upkeep of the park and it brought back so many fond memories. I have a questune, would the planning board allow a wedding at Benson? My niece wants to get married in a beautiful outdoor and not have outragous prices to do it. I was wondering if that could be done and we would make a small donation to the park or you could give us a price. The reception would also be great to have but I am not sure if you would allow that and they would like to have a DJ. Even just to have the wedding there may be special because of the lovely flowers and plants you all have taken care of and planted. Please call me and let me know what you think of this idea. I bet the photos would be other people in to want functions there and it could help with upkeep costs for beautiful park.
Please call Kim at 603-437-6131

Would anyone have information about Carl Neuffer, a family friend, who worked with elephants in Benson's.
Also Fefe Pellitier left a message in 2008 asking for a picture of her uncle Joe Arcaris. I tried to write her at the email address mentioned, but it is no longer correct. If anyone knows how to contact her please let her know that she could contact me at the above email address.

Anyone, like Trevor, who jumps to profanity and abuse on an online forum of this kind is, at best, deranged and, at worst, completely lacking in the ability to conduct a civilized discourse. I feel deeply sorry for anybody who is forced deal with somebody, like Trevor, who has no manners and a short fuse.

Ive been to Bensons park several times over the past few months, I have completly fell in love with this place! Everything about it is interesting and exciting. I hope that with the support of volunteers and help from the community that one day this place could reopen as a visitation center, where they are able to charge just a few dollars from each person to make the upkeep happen. It looks fantastic. Also it would be very cool if there was a way to host an event a town bbq where everyone can participate in buying food etc .. if anyone knows anything on how abouts to contact about events etc that would be great! This park would be awesome for halloween time as well , maybe getting all the children to do a trick or treating thing at each spot that use to have animals etc. I love this park and only want to keep seeing it get better and better!!

Can I bring my dog (on a leash of course) to Benson's on any day at any time to walk the trails? I have not been since it has re-opened and I heard you can walk the trails with pets. Just want to check before we go there.

Thanks
